Building K at LogistiCenter is a 365,000 square foot multi-tenant speculative distribution center developed by DP Partners. Blue Rock and DP Partners pursued and received a LEED Silver Certification for this building. Some of the sustainable practices implemented on this project were: Potable water use was reduced by 48%, the buildings energy performance was optimized by over 15%, breathing zone outdoor air ventilation rates to all occupied spaces were increased by at least 30% above the minimum rates required by ASHRAE standards, and nearly 85% of on-site generated construction waste was diverted from landfills through an aggressive recycling program. Also, just over 30% of the total building materials content, by value, has been manufactured using recycled materials.
In addition, 60% of the materials used were produced or manufactured regionally which considerably reduces the energy utilized in transportation of building materials. Furthermore, 100% of the wood based building materials were harvested from Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified forests. These and several other "green" initiatives were undertaken to achieve this impressive mark of sustainability. |
