This 55,000 square foot facility for FoodSource was completed in 11 weeks and consisted of 36,950 square feet of cold storage, cold docks and re-pack area along with 4,200 square feet of office area. The warehouse also utilizes 13,850 square feet for dry/ambient storage and 20 battery charging stations.
The existing roof over the cooler areas was removed and replaced with 2 layers of insulation board with staggered laps for an R-value of 40. In order to control the unwanted formation of condensation in the roof envelope, pourable foam insulation and a vapor barrier were installed.
Temperatures in the cold storage areas range from 34 degrees in the 3 large cooler rooms to 45 degrees in the cold dock area. A total of 9 rooftop compressors were installed with 2 air units per compressor system to increase the air changes per hour for better room coverage.
