Tech Data's decision to utilize Blue Rock Construction created Blue Rock's first opportunity for a major build-to-suit development and construction turnkey project. This opportunity created a higher standard in order to satisfy the initiative of a joint development and construction program.

Through an open-book development/construction management program, Blue Rock performed extensive value engineering work sessions whereby Blue Rock, the Owner, design professionals and speciality trade contractors exchanged ideas in an effort to reduce cost and compress the schedule while maintaining utmost quality and security standards.

Results:

The client reduced their overall construction cost by 10 percent while exceeding schedule and quality goals. Through the development and construction efforts of Blue Rock Construction, Tech Data Corporation exceeded their project requirements. The standards established by Blue Rock became the benchmark for how Tech Data subsequently managed the development, design and construction of future facilities.
