Strong partnerships are at the core of successful construction projects, and Blue Rock Construction’s collaboration with Shoreline Freezers in Bridgeton, N.J., is a clear example of that principle in action.
“As a family-owned company, we place a high value on strong partnerships and collaboration, and Blue Rock Construction proved to be an outstanding partner throughout our Bridgeton expansion,” said Jeff Reichle, Chairman of Shoreline Freezers.
Together, the teams recently reached a major milestone on a 120,000-square-foot cold storage expansion that significantly enhances Shoreline’s operational capacity and positions the company for continued growth throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic.
The project, which began in April 2025, achieved its Temporary Certificate of Occupancy (TCO), marking substantial completion and a major step toward full operations.
Designed for Performance Growth
The expansion was built with performance, efficiency, and scalability in mind. It features a freezer area operating at -5°F and a temperature-controlled dock at 45°F to support seamless cold-chain logistics.
The facility also includes a two-story office, 17 dock positions, and a dedicated battery-charging area. In total, it more than doubles Shoreline Freezers’ capacity, providing critical infrastructure to meet rising demand.
Expertise in Cold Storage Construction
Projects of this scale require technical precision and specialized expertise. Blue Rock brings deep experience in cold storage, delivering facilities designed to perform under extreme conditions.
From insulation systems and vapor barriers to refrigeration coordination and slab design, every detail matters.
“A high level of detail and oversight was needed during the design and construction phases to ensure everything was built correctly for this type of freezer building,” said Chris Brown, Senior Project Manager at Blue Rock.
A Partnership that Delivered Results
That expertise was matched by strong collaboration throughout the project.
“From early planning through completion, their team demonstrated a deep understanding of the complexities of cold storage construction while maintaining a consistent focus on quality, safety, and performance,” Reichle said.
“Blue Rock took the time to understand our operational goals and worked closely with us to ensure the facility was built to support our long-term growth strategy. Their proactive communication and attention to detail helped keep a highly technical project on track and running smoothly.
“The result is a state-of-the-art facility that enhances our capacity, improves efficiency, and positions us to better serve customers across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. We’re proud of what we accomplished together and the strong partnership built throughout this project.”
“It was a great project, and Shoreline Freezers was a phenomenal partner,” Brown added.
A Commitment to Client Success
The Shoreline Freezers expansion reflects Blue Rock’s commitment to delivering high-performance facilities through collaboration, technical expertise, and a client-focused approach.
Guided by its mission of “Building On Our Commitment To Your Success,” Blue Rock provides consulting, design-build, and construction management services nationwide, with offices in Allentown and Newtown, Pa., and Burlington, N.J.
This project shows what happens when strong partnerships and specialized expertise come together, delivering a facility built for today’s needs and for long-term success.
