Project Description

The Cardinal Health headquarters facility is comprised of 10,000 square feet of office space and 242,000 square feet of warehousing and distribution space. This state-of-the-art distribution center was constructed from the ground up in Logan Township, NJ, within a fast-paced, 28-week schedule. The project included construction of an explosion-proof hazardous chemicals vault with overlapping and redundant fire suppression systems.

The distribution space was constructed with a high-efficiency, high-output T-5 fluorescent lighting system with the maximum level of controllability. Each individual light fixture is controlled by a motion sensor in order to maximize power efficiency. Additionally, the facility’s concrete flooring system was constructed on a sub-grade of recycled crushed concrete instead of quarry stone. These and many other environmentally responsible attributes made this facility “green” before the rest of the industry was talking about environmentally responsible buildings.

Blue Rock Construction, Inc. provided preconstruction and construction management services for this project, including township reviews and approvals in an effort to control overall cost and meet the stringent and company-critical scheduling requirements.

Cardinal Health is a leading provider of medical products, services and technologies supporting the healthcare industry. This facility continues to distribute large volumes of medical supplies to all of its customers.
