Project Description
This 55,000-square-foot facility for FoodSource was completed in 11 weeks and consisted of 36,950 square feet of cold storage, cold docks and a repack area, plus 4,200 square feet of office space. The warehouse also utilizes 13,850 square feet for dry/ambient storage and 20 battery charging stations.
The existing roof over the cooler areas was removed and replaced with two layers of insulation board with staggered laps for an R-value of 40. In order to control the unwanted formation of condensation in the roof envelope, pourable foam insulation and a vapor barrier were installed.
Temperatures in the cold storage areas range from 34°F in the three large cooler rooms to 45°F in the cold dock area. Nine rooftop compressors were installed with two air units each to increase the air changes per hour for better room coverage.
