Blue Rock’s Eighth Annual Golf Outing Will Benefit Dr. Tom Catena’s Mission in Sudan

Join us at Makefield Highlands Golf Club in Yardley, Pa, on Thursday, October 3, 2024, for the eighth annual Blue Rock-Heart of Nuba Golf Outing to support Dr. Tom Catena, an amazing American physician saving thousands of lives in the war-torn Nuba Mountains region of Sudan.

For over 13 years, Dr. Catena – “Dr. Tom” to locals – has been the only physician on-call 24 hours a day, seven days a week at the Mother of Mercy Catholic Hospital amidst ongoing civil war.

Today, Dr. Tom needs our help more than ever.

Matt Smith of the Sudan Relief Fund, who was Blue Rock’s special guest at last year’s golf outing, recently returned from the Nuba mountains and gave Blue Rock President Steve Kettelberger and his wife, Lisa, an update.

“Tom told me, ‘This is the worst I’ve ever seen Sudan,’ ” emailed Matt.  “The needs are immense and the situation has changed dramatically since I visited last year.

“In the last few months, over 700,000 refugees have arrived to Nuba that are fleeing the brutal fighting across Sudan. You can imagine the strain that is placing on the hospital and the expansion clinics.”

Thanks to our amazing donors, our golf outing has raised over $1.1 million since 2017 and ALL proceeds go directly to Dr. Tom.
